What is SGMGMA?

A great way to learn what is happening in healthcare is through networking with other medical managers who face similar challenges and can provide important feedback. One of the goals of SGMGMA is to provide a setting for members of the medical community to do just that. SGMGMA is here to help support its members in the areas of continuing education, training, and credentialing.

Through the process of sharing knowledge this organization has the potential to be a great tool to our medical field community members; however, it takes each of us to participate to make that happen.

Upcoming changes in the healthcare industry are upon us, and we feel it is important to stay up to date on our ever--changing healthcare environment.

In an effort to help educate our medical management community of the many changes affecting healthcare today, the Board has planned a dynamic schedule of seminars for 2016 that will educate members and attendees on topics such as Meaningful Use, MACRA, HIPAA Compliance, MIPS, and Georgia’s Health Insurance Exchange.

Active Member

An individual who is actively engaged in the administration or supervision management of a medical practice within the region including Lowndes County and all counties that immediately border Lowndes County.

All active members are entitled to voting privileges and may serve as officers and committee members.

Affiliate Member

An individual who is not a member of the administration staff of a medical practice, but who has an interest in medical business management (i.e. physicians, consultants, hospital employees, accountants, etc.).

Affiliate members do not vote, may not hold office or chair committees.

Student Member

An individual currently studying or interested healthcare or healthcare management.

Student members can serve on but not chair committees. Student members may not vote or hold office.

An individual or organization who has an interest in or provides services to medical business management (i.e. consultants, service organizations, sponsors, vendors, etc.).

As a Gold: Level 2 Sponsor, your company secures monthly SGMGMA luncheon seats for your representatives, your compny logo is embedded into each email or publication sent to the group and your logo displays on the screen prior to the PowerPoint presentation. Your company also has the option to set up a display booth with literature and leave favors on the tables.
